For all of you still wondering what to give the special people in your life this holiday season, I have a suggestion. It costs nothing, but your time. The rewards are immeasurable, for you and for them. Rather than shopping for a gift (or perhaps you can give this with your gift), I suggest you write a letter of love to everyone in your life that matters most – your partner, children, parents, siblings, and best friends. Here are some thoughts about what you might include in each letter:
• What you love and admire most about them.
• Ten words that best describe who they are.
• What they’ve done (or do) for you that you appreciate most.
• Great memories you’ve shared together.
• How they’ve changed who you are or what your life is like.
• What your life would be like without them in it.
• How much you truly love them!
In truth, we don’t spend nearly enough time or effort letting people know how much we love them and what they mean to us. Yet, one of the top regrets of people at the end of their lives is just that – they wish they had shared more. Nothing has more meaning – nothing! Don’t you want that kind of meaning for the people in your life? I do. That’s why I say, get started on your letters today. Take your time with each one. Let the words that live in your heart be transcribed onto the page. It’s a wonderful way to make this holiday season the most beautiful one yet.
Lessons Learned: We all want to know that we matter to someone. This holiday season write letters of love to the people who matter most to you.
P.S. To all the people who read or subscribe to my blog, I want to say a big, huge, heartfelt thank you! Thank you for your time, your presence and your comments. I feel truly privileged and grateful to share my thoughts with you. May your holiday season be filled with love, more love, and even a whole lot more love than that!!! Liz xo
