The Most Important Lesson For a Long & Healthy Life

Do you want a wonderful life?  If so, here’s some advice that’s definitely worth listening to.  Stay healthy!!!  Don’t get high blood pressure.  Don’t get heart disease.  Don’t get type II diabetes or any other disease related to lifestyle.  Once you have a disease, you can’t just get rid of it.  You have to treat it.  You have to manage it.  It reduces the quality of your life and what you do with your life.  You usually have to take medications and there’s not a single medication out there that doesn’t have side effects.  Most diseases come with pain and often with complications.  Not to mention the fact, that you significantly increase your risk of dying!  People don’t get this.  They eat the burgers and the fries and they say “it’s not going to happen to me!”  Guess what?  It will.  What you eat today, impacts your risk of disease tomorrow, even if tomorrow means ten or twenty years from now.  You don’t want to get sick!  You really don’t!  Eat healthy.  Exercise daily.  Maintain a healthy body weight.  Don’t smoke.  Your health matters, because you matter and what you do with your life matters too!

Lessons Learned:

  • A healthy lifestyle today impacts your risk of disease tomorrow.  Make today healthy, so all of your tomorrows will be healthy too!

    hi LIz

I think what you’re also saying is that you have to start NOW to be healthy as you age. Nutrition is part of it but alot has to do with keep active as well.

I get annoyed that people accept that high blood pressure and muscle aches are inevitable when they’re not! They say it runs in their families and that’s not true all the time but a convenient excuse …..

My physiotherapist friend told me she can tell how someone walks into her treatment centre whether they’ll heal in 6 weeks or 6 months – it’s all about attitude.

OK rant over! Good posting as always, though I think this blog post should be called “A Recipe for a happy, healthy and long life!”
