Another New Workout Video
(This blog is a follow-up to my April 2007 blog. You may want to read the April blog first.)
As mentioned previously, I have been working out with a new exercise video called “Get Ripped!” by Jari Love (http://www.rippedworkout.ca/). It’s a fully body workout with weights. For best results, it is recommended that you do the workout at least three times a week. I do weights at least three days a week and usually some form of cardio on the days in between. Some days I do both weights and cardio. The two other videos that I have added to my repertoire are both from Jari Love. One is called “Get Ripped! Slim & Lean” and the other is “Get Ripped 1000.” Here are ten things to consider…
1. The “Get Ripped! Slim & Lean” video is significantly more challenging than Jari Love’s first video (Get Rippled!). Unless you’re already in very good shape I suggest you start with “Get Ripped!” and then work your way up to “Slim & Lean”. I do, however, strongly recommend the “Slim & Lean” video for a demanding, full body workout. If you can do this whole video from beginning to end (including all of the push-ups on your toes) you deserve a medal. I’ll let you know if I get there.

2. I am also enjoying Jari Love’s video “Get Ripped 1000”. It’s a combination of weights and cardio and claims you will burn up to 1000 calories in a single session. It sure feels like it.

3. I like having a variety of videos to choose from so I don’t get bored with the same routine. A great source for videos is Collage Video (http://www.collagevideo.com/).
4. Working out in the morning is the best time for me. I start my day off feeling great and other commitments are less likely to get in the way.
5. Regular exercise is essential to my ability to maintain a healthy body weight.
6. Exercise is just as important to my mental health (the feel good factor) as my physical health. Pay attention to how you feel when physical activity is not a regular part of your life (and when it is).
7. Weights are a great addition your workout routine. Don’t just do cardio.
8. Healthy eating and physical activity are not interchangeable. Both are required for ultimate health!
9. If regular exercise is not a part of your life – what are you waiting for? As Nike would say…Just do it!
10. If you do exercise regularly...congratulations! May it be a part of your life forever and for always.
Have a happy, healthy day!
Sincerely, Liz Pearson
